FUERTEVENTURA, 2023: Windswept plains, volcanic silhouettes, and silent horizons — Land of Aphanite captures the raw essence of an island shaped by ancient fire and ceaseless winds. Between the stark light and deep shadows, the driest part of the archipelago unfolds as an austere terrain full of dust and beauty.

The series emerged from long drives across the island, following its roads from coast to inland plateaus, letting distance and detours reveal the quiet logic of the land. Working with analog film slowed the pace and heightened attention to light and form, allowing each frame to carry a grain-etched, timeless weight that mirrors the island’s raw permanence.
