another    life

Cay Berg (Another Life) — producer + dj from Cologne. Having always been closely connected to the sound of electronic music through his older brothers, he began to emerge his own style and rhythm about seven years ago.

A shirtless man stands inside a partially assembled bed frame in a room with brick walls and a window. The image has a ghostly double exposure effect showing him in a semi-transparent position.

Diving deeper into the apparently infinite fields of electronic sounds, his perception isolates the work of artists like Stephan Bodzin, Moderat or RY X — which later will become important influences on the journey to his own musical vision. The outcome can be described as an interaction of varying deep melodies + sounds, which will emotionally increase through out the track until it fully unfolds into the audience.

The producer enriches these melodies at selected points with vocals made from his own voice. Thereby every project genuinely contains a very personal note. The vocal parts are characterised by a clear yet somehow alienated sound so they can work as additional melodies instead of lyrics.

There are few simple things Cay is inspired by, when making music. Whether it is the conversations with his girlfriend, thoughts about the future world, the loving support of his mother or just daily life — the power he can extract from those things deliver a constant energy for putting in endless hours of joy in the studio.
